New volunteers and board members sworn-in and ready to make a difference
The most recent group of volunteers to complete CASA training were sworn-in and are now ready for assignment to a foster child. New board members Dean Britt, Deana Mangone, Prashant Kumar and Andrew Quinn (left to right) were also sworn-in to start their service supporting and guiding Hudson County CASA.
Annual Aging-Out Event held to benefit foster teens
Approximately 60 Hudson County foster teens attended the annual Aging-Out event to help them prepare for their futures after foster care. Volunteers from Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Quest Diagnostics, and Rutgers School of Law helped with resume writing, job and college applications. DCP&P and supporting offices, representatives from area non-profits and businesses, and Hudson County Court officials and staff all participated to provide resources, information and inspiration.
Hudson County CASA's Annual Backpack Campaign
Hudson County CASA is delivering backpacks filled with school supplies to all of its school-aged children this month. A big thank you to Barclays and our volunteers for making this annual campaign a success!
Employees of UPS give CASA offices a fresh coat of paint
A group of UPS employees repainted CASA's offices. UPS is a great friend to CASA and Hudson County foster children. We are thankful for their support.
St. Francis Academy students raise $5,300 for local foster children
Executive Director Beverly Savage was presented with $5,300 from the students of St. Francis Academy in Union City. Every class participated in a coin drive and together collected this impressive amount.
CASA 2015 Book Drive promoting literacy and summer reading is underway
Thanks to Quest Diagnostics and individual donors for the 1,700 books donated to CASA this year! Books for children and teens were hand-selected by CASA volunteers who then delivered bags full of books to overjoyed children.
