Over the past couple of years, CASA has been the lucky recipient of UPS's United Way giving campaign. The employees of UPS are incredibly generous and we are grateful for their support.
CASA's annual Pier 13 Night will be held on Thursday, July 14th. This evening benefits Hudson County foster children and celebrates CASA's volunteers. Join us for a fun night of food, drinks and gorgeous view of the city at this amazing venue in Hoboken.
Our newest class of volunteers have been sworn-in. CASA case supervisors are in the process of reviewing referrals to best match and then assign volunteers with children.
The first annual Sibling Day Celebration was a unique opportunity for children in foster care to spend a fun afternoon with brothers and sisters who are placed in separate homes. The Liberty Science Center opened its doors for the special after-hours celebration.
CASA held its 10th Annual Wine Tasting on April 8, 2016 at Battello in Jersey City with wines curated by Cork Wine & Spirits of Hoboken. An entertaining evening was had by all with tastings of exceptional wine, delicious foods and desserts, a spirits tasting room and cork pull. The silent auction featured exciting items such as two tickets to Hamilton, an African safari, and a foursome at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.
CASA is grateful to its many sponsors of this year's wine tasting. Without their loyal support we could not do our important work for Hudson County foster children.
Melissa Hull spoke to the students and staff at The OLC School in Jersey City about local foster children and CASA's work. The school will be hosting a for-donation dress-down day and the proceeds will benefit CASA.
Nancy Bayerlein of Allergan presented CASA staff with a year-end donation from The Allergan Foundation. This generous gift with enable us to serve more children in 2016!
The children of St. Francis Academy held a holiday book drive and made a generous book donation to our new library. These books will be available year round for CASA kids.
The children of Hoboken Montessori School donated over 230 hats, mittens and scarves for CASA children. The winter accessories will be included with the holiday gifts to be delivered to local foster children by their CASA volunteer.
Two Photos with Santa fundraisers were held at Lulu's at the W Hotel in Hoboken and Battello in Jersey City to benefit CASA. Over 100 families visited with Santa and his elves arming themselves with digital photos perfect for holiday cards. This year's fundraisers were our most successful yet.

The most recent group of volunteers to complete CASA training were sworn-in and are now ready for assignment to a foster child. New board members Dean Britt, Deana Mangone, Prashant Kumar and Andrew Quinn (left to right) were also sworn-in to start their service supporting and guiding Hudson County CASA.
Approximately 60 Hudson County foster teens attended the annual Aging-Out event to help them prepare for their futures after foster care. Volunteers from Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Quest Diagnostics, and Rutgers School of Law helped with resume writing, job and college applications. DCP&P and supporting offices, representatives from area non-profits and businesses, and Hudson County Court officials and staff all participated to provide resources, information and inspiration.
